Goals Galore On Another Exciting National League Day

Chesterfield’s lead at the top of the National League is now an incredible 11 points as they put their foot down in the race for the EFL.

Ollie Banks’ double after Will Grigg’s opener gave them a 3-0 lead over Eastleigh and they’d resisted a superb fightback to fire themselves away from the chasing pack.

Bromley, pictured, are emerging as their most likely contenders - a 4-1 win at Hartlepool United underlined their threat, Michael Cheek bagged two more.

Barnet were bruised again. They left rivals Wealdstone flattened after throwing away the lead. Charlie Barker’s 98th minute winner sealed a 3-2 victory after Jack Cook’s two goals.

The result of the day came at Altrincham. A 6-1 win added to Solihull Moors’ worries. Justin Amaluzor’s double inflicted real damage - Chris Conn-Clarke and Alex Newby were also on target.

Boreham Wood left free-falling Woking with the sinking feeling. The Cards desperately need a new manager and fast, throwing away a 2-0 lead to leave defeated 4-2. Tyrone Marsh scored twice.

Aldershot Town love keeping their fans on the edge of their seats this season and a winner very late on from Lorent Tolaj turned one point into three against FC Halifax Town.

Rochdale are edging towards the play-offs, winning for a third game in a row. Veteran Ian Henderson the difference between the sides at Dagenham.

After a stunning win at Barnet, Oldham imploded at home to Ebbsfleet United, who ended their long wait for a win. It ended 4-1 days after the Latics scored four themselves, Dom Poleon on the mark.

Harry Cardwell earned a point for Southend at Gateshead after Stephen Wearne scored again for the hosts.

The live game was sensational. AFC Fylde put on a first half show for the TNT Sports cameras but the comeback from Dorking did real damage. They went ahead through Nick Haughton early on before James McShane’s leveller.

But the hosts went for the neck on the half hour man as Luke Charman and Jon Ustabasi scored within minutes but the visitors clawed it back and made it 3-3 when McShane got his second.

Kidderminster turned things around to get a 2-2 draw at Oxford City, Amari Morgan-Smith with the leveller as Maidenhead and York City drew 1-1.

In what could be the result of end National League South season so far, struggling Welling United hit relentless leaders Yeovil Town for four.

Tristran Abrahams treble condemned the Glovers to defeat but they still hold an eight point lead.

Aveley dropped two points late on at Weymouth, while Bath City dug out a 2-2 draw at Farnborough. Jack Batten earned a point for the Romans.

Hampton & RB are now third after leaving Chippenham Town with a well deserved three points. Mason Bloomfield scored again.

Dartford were far too strong for Torquay United. Richard Chin helped them on the way to a fine 3-0 win.

Harvey Greenslade got Truro’s winner at Chelmsford as Tonbridge rolled over Havant 4-1. It was also a good day for Weston, Hemel, Slough and St Albans City.

Tamworth hold onto the National League North leadership after their simple 3-1 win over King’s Lynn, Jamie Jellis added to his growing reputation with another goal.

Scunthrope United look to be the side best placed to challenge the Lambs, Callum Roberts’ winner enough to sink Warrington Town.

South Shields suffered a damaging 1-0 defeat to Chester, Liam Edwards’ goal gets the Seals going again after an impressive away day in the North East.

Spennymoor’s title tilt took a big hit as they went down 4-2 at bottom markers Gloucester City. Brandon Smalley, Joe Hanks, Tyrone Duffus and Liam Cross got the Tigers goals.

Scarborough Athletic had five different scorers as they put Bishop’s Stortford to the sword.

Carlton Ubaezuonu’s 90th minute strike gave Chorley a point at Boston United in a big play-off battle. It ended 2-2 at the Jakeman’s Stadium.

Mikey O’Neill got the Southport winner at Buxton as Dion Sembie-Ferris’ double earned Peterborough Sports a brilliant 3-2 win at Blyth Spartans.
