Garner Becomes a Shayman

Vanarama National League North club FC Halifax Town has announced the signing of 26-year-old defender Scott Garner.

The 6`2” Coventry-born defender started his career at Lincoln City but made his name at Mansfield Town before joining Grimsby Town in 2010 before having a loan spell at Alfreton Town in February 2011.

Cambridge United signed him a two-year deal in June 2012 and had loan spells at Lincoln City and Boston United during his time at Abbey Stadium.

He joined Boston on a permanent deal in 2014 and has played two games for the England C side.

Garner has signed a two-year deal with the Shaymen and follows the signings of Steven Drench, Josh Wilde, Tom Denton and Liam King as new boss Billy Heath continues his preparations for the 2016/17 season.
