Gannon Wants County Momentum To Be Kept On Track

Stockport County boss Jim Gannon says his team have got what they deserved in recent games as they look to make it three wins in a row.

County have defeated Gainsborough Trinity and Boston United in their last matches and now take on Leamington, writes Tom Feaheny.

"It has been a good week and we want to continue that facing Leamington," Gannon told the club’s website.

“In the last match we were asking a lot of questions, they are a well organised side but I felt we were creating the chances and deserved the win."

Gannon says their victory against Boston United showed the confidence they have at the moment.

“It is a massive win for us, at home we have been very controlled in our play, we were able to up certain areas by a couple of percent and deserved that, along with the Gainsborough victory it is two important results."

Gannon believes that the intensity his side showed can be credited to key changes they have made.

“Since Christmas we have really been able to step it up, some are training on a Monday and that helps them be more durable, not all the players are but it is helping us all greatly.

“We just need to keep going, there are a lot of happy faces here and we need that to keep going.”
