Four-Midable Fylde Continue To Impress Challinor

Dave Challinor believes his side avoided a potential slip-up after battling the elements to a win over Hartlepool.

Two goals from Danny Rowe, a Fraser Kerr own-goal and a late strike from Lewis Walters gave the Coasters a fine win at a blustery Mill Farm.

Challinor's men are still in title contention - they're just six points from leaders Leyton Orient - making the win all the more sweet.

"The conditions were unique," he told the club's video service. "I’ve never played in conditions as bad as that and it was really tough.

"You hope that the game isn’t decided by the wind, but ultimately it had a huge effect on the game.

"I’m not going to stand here and say we haven’t got a little bit of luck and the wind hasn’t affected the game because it has.

"It’s one of them nights where, all of a sudden, it does become a bit of a banana skin and the game can go either way because the elements are so testing.

"But it was one of them games where you’ve got to be adaptable and do what was required to win and we’re just happy to win."
