Your Weekend Starts Here! So What’s In Store On Saturday?

By Sam Elliott

The leaders are otherwise engaged this weekend - so how will the chasing pack react?

Leyton Orient’s FA Trophy commitments mean they won’t be in National League action this Saturday, or the one after.

Now it’s over to the rest to see if the table toppers can be unseated.

Solihull Moors will go top if they win - but they need to bash Braintree Town to do it.

The Moors need to win by six clear goals to take first place and they’re coming up against the Iron at the wrong time - they’ve just beaten Sutton United away 3-0 weeks after seeing off Salford City.

After two defeats in a row, Wrexham fans will feel they simply have to beat struggling Maidstone United at the Racecourse having slipped four points behind Orient. Bryan Hughes’ side have also played a game more.

Salford City can make things very, very difficult for Aldershot with a win at the EBB - and close the gap at the top to four points in the process.

Gary Waddock's men know time is running out and they currently sit eight points from safety.

Eastleigh, winners in six of their last seven games, are up in sixth place and take on a Barrow side in good form too.

Harrogate Town are clinging on to the final play-offs place with both hands, Simon Weaver’s team have a home game with Maidenhead.

Gateshead will be looking to pounce should they slip up and go to Sutton United, who currently sit bottom of the form guide and really need to get back to winning ways if their season is to be extended.

Havant & Waterlooville
now have survival hope and Chesterfield stand in the way of them moving out of the bottom four this Saturday.

Dover want to keep the Hawks there - they have a big game at home to FC Halifax Town.

Ebbsfleet and Boreham Wood do battle and Barnet still need points - they’re at home to Hartlepool United.

Saturday’s National League fixtures:
Aldershot v Salford City
Barnet v Hartlepool
Dover v FC Halifax
Eastleigh v Barrow
Ebbsfleet v Boreham Wood
Harrogate v Maidenhead
Havant & W v Chesterfield
Solihull v Braintree Town
Sutton United v Gateshead
Wrexham v Maidstone United
