York Kick-Off Bootham Farewell With Special Kit

York City have unveiled a commemorative shirt as they begin their farewell to Bootham Crescent.

The Minstermen are leaving their current ground to move to the new Community Stadium next season.

They've been at their current ground for over 80-years and a club legend helped them announce the new shirt.

Graeme Crawford, goalkeeper for the club in the mid-seventies is hoping the 'Y-front' design can bring the club some luck.

“Everyone used to like wearing this shirt and I think the design is now synonymous with York City Football Club," he told the club's website.

"I went to watch the team playing at Leamington last season and there were City supporters still wearing the 'Y-Front' shirt.

"It was also a lucky shirt back in the Seventies and, hopefully, it will be as lucky again.

"The new version puts a modern take on an old design and I really like it."

The shirt will be worn on the final day of the season when Steve Watson's side face AFC Telford United at home.
