Who's Given Martin Allen The Log-In To Spireites' Website!

By Sam Elliott

Chesterfield continue to let manager Martin Allen loose on their official website - and he’s come up with another corker!

The colourful former Barnet and Eastleigh manager has been penning personal posts this summer as he lifts the club following relegation.

He described new signing Michael Nelson as being “fit as a butcher’s dog” earlier this summer and has also posted many other messages which have raised a smile.

But his latest scribbling may be his best yet.

Chesterfield have changed the kick-off time for their pre-season friendly match with Nuneaton - and Allen says it’s because of his wife!

“To be perfectly honest with you, I only got it changed as I want to watch my wife swim in the River Thames for Cancer Research UK,” Allen admitted.

“I do apologise if I have missed up anyone’s away trip.

“Of course I will be very proud when she takes on that tough challenge and no doubt she will not be defeated.

“If I have messed up your day, come and see me in my office for a chat.”
