Salford’s Match With Tamworth Called Off Late On

By Sam Elliott

National League North leaders Salford City suffered frustration this afternoon.

Their match with Tamworth at the Peninsula Stadium was postponed at 2pm.

A post on the club’s twitter account said the match official was not happy with the condition of the pitch and the match couldn’t go ahead.

It read: “Salford City apologise for all the inconvenience caused. Unfortunately the match referee has taken the decision that the pitch could be dangerous and it is not the club’s decision.”

A new date for the game has yet to be arranged.
