New Badge And New Colours For The Re-Branded Tigers

Gloucester City have announced the club will be wearing red again next season.

The Tigers have done away with yellow and black as they return to the colours they wore in the 1980s.

National League South City will also have a new club crest as part of their rebranding exercise.

The new badge won’t have a Tiger on it.

Instead it incorporates the historic city’s skyline showing the cathedral and Gloucester Docks.

They say this “signals the club’s intent to not only remember where we’ve come from but to also look forward to the next chapter of our journey; as we look to finally bring the club back to the heart of the city.”

Tigers director Alex Petheram said: “The logo and kit colour change was already a topic of discussion well before my time at Gloucester City.

“On a personal note, my Dad and grandfather for example have both watched Gloucester City play in red and from talking to current fans I’ve heard their reasons for why they wanted to stay in the current yellow of Westbury Homes, as they brought in the yellow when they sponsored the club back in the 80’s with the clubs move to Meadow Park.

“A meeting was called with attendance from the supporters trust, sponsors, future sponsors, the ladies, youth section, first team management and main board shareholders.”
