Local Boy Makes Wraight Move After Stones Release

Chelmsford City have announced the signing of Tom Wraight, who was recently released by National League side Maidstone United.

Twenty-three-year-old Wraight becomes City’s third signing of the summer, joining Amos Nasha and former Maidstone United team-mate Joe Anderson.

Wraight, a Chelmsford-born midfielder, signed for the Stones last summer after two prolific seasons with East Thurrock United where he scored 43 goals during the club’s promotion from the Isthmian Premier and first season in National League South.

The left winger trialled at Gillingham and Millwall and came through the youth set-up at Tilbury before joining Witham Town from where he signed for East Thurrock.

He went on to make twenty-six appearances for the Stones before being released after an unfortunate series of injuries.

The addition of Wraight follows the recent news that Elliot Omozusi and Taylor Miles have agreed terms to remain with City for the 2018/19 season.
