Garrard's Eyeing Top Seven As Wood Show Their Teeth

In his eyes they are now six unbeaten and with their National League form very encouraging, he hopes it won’t be long until they are knocking on the play-off door again.

Wood lost their two main strikers, Morgan Ferrier and Bruno Andrade, to the Football League this summer and also goalkeeper Grant Smith.

So considering that, Garrard isn’t surprised it has taken them a few weeks to find their feet again.

He said: “It’s six unbeaten now and on Saturday we kept another clean sheet.

“It was a difficult start for us, we have taken our time getting into a rhythm but I’m delighted with the last few weeks I really am.

“In our last four league games we have beaten Chesterfield, Halifax and Maidstone - ten points from 12 is very good from a tough run of fixtures.

“We have worked hard with the squad and bedded the new players in and now we’re moving in the right direction.

“On Saturday we play Barrow and hopefully we can make it four wins from five and get that gap closed between ourselves and the promotion positions.”
