Gannon: More To Come From Five Wins In A Row County

For the first time since 2008, Stockport County won five league games in a row, with boss Jim Gannon saying he knows they can do more.

Stockport County gained another win and kept their run of form going as the three points against Tamworth helped put them in a stronger position in the play-off places, writes Tom Feaheny.

With so few games to go County have hit form at the right time and currently sit fifth.

"I told the lads to keep and raise the standards from the past games, we need to be better in certain situations, that being said all I can ask is that we score goals and win games and we did that," Gannon told Imagine FM.

"I'm pleased for the lads, they have worked really hard during the past weeks, 15 points from 5 games is all I can ask for."

When looking at what needs to happen to ensure they make the play-off places, Gannon knows the side can't look too far ahead.

"We set a points target of 72 last season, it wasn't enough, right now it is a game at a time, we need to ensure we are very professional in the next game against North Ferriby United.

"The standard we have needs to be kept to ensure we have a good chance of getting the wins, we want to be unbeaten going until to the end of the season."
