Bishop’s EFL Move Must Wait For End Of The School Term!

Colby Bishop has fulfilled his Football League ambition - but he’s got to finish school first!

The Leamington striker has signed for Accrington Stanley after the two club’s agreed a few this weekend.

But while John Coleman’s side are preparing for the League One season, the PE teacher still has a week left of class!

The 22-year-old has spoken to the BBC following a 21-go season which has earned him a big move.

"It was a big decision to give up teaching but it was a decision that didn't take a lot of thinking about,” the striker said.

“Professional football is what I used to do and it's what I have always wanted to do.

“It's sad to be leaving teaching but I am over the moon at the same time.

"I know the gaffer here was a primary school teacher as well. I still have to go to work next week and he said he had to do the same thing for three weeks when Accrington turned professional so he does understand it. We have common ground.”

Bishop has agreed a three-year deal, with the option of a further 12 months.
