Bates Has Plans In Place As Pools Look To Bring Players In

Hartlepool United's new boss Matthew Bates says he knows what he will be looking to bring in during the next weeks and months.

After impressing at the caretaker boss, he is currently making changes to the squad, writes Tom Feaheny.

A number of players have been told they can leave, while they prepare for next season.

"One thing I will look at is bringing fresh faces to the club, but they have to be the right type,” Bates told Hartlepool Mail.

“They have to be experienced and leaders, who can deal with the slight added pressure of playing at home.

“It might not happen straight away but that is what we are going to work hard to try and get to this club. This ground needs to be a fortress."

Bates says there is no rush for the recruitment process and they will ensure they get it right.

“We want to try and bring players here to help us make that a reality.”
