Fans' Favourite McAnuff Returns To Brisbane Road

Leyton Orient have announced the return of experienced midfielder Jobi McAnuff.

The 35-year-old has agreed a one-year deal with the O’s, and returns having spent two years in E10 between 2014 and 2016.

McAnuff adds a wealth of experience to Steve Davis’ squad having made over 600 senior appearances, and arrives back at Orient after leaving Sky Bet League Two side Stevenage following the expiration of his contract.

With over thirty international caps for Jamaica to his name, the midfielder started out at Wimbledon and made his professional debut for the Dons during the 2001/02 season.

Following four years in the Dons first-team, McAnuff then found himself on the move in January 2004 when he signed for West Ham United, although he only spent six months at Upton Park before moving to Cardiff City.

Having racked up a total of forty-eight appearances for the Bluebirds during the 2004/05 season, McAnuff returned to London in order to join Crystal Palace, and went on to become a consistent figure at Selhurst Park.

The midfielder went on to enjoy two seasons with the Eagles in which he made eighty-three appearances, and scored 14 goals before moving to Watford during the summer of 2006.

In just over two seasons with the Hornets, McAnuff made ninety-two appearances before signing for Reading in what proved to be the most successful spell of his career.

During his five years at the Madjeski Stadium, McAnuff captained the Royals to promotion to the Premier League in 2012, and was an ever-present during their year in the top division.

July 2014 then saw McAnuff arrive in E10, with the midfielder penning a two-year deal with the O’s.

McAnuff made a total of fifty-seven appearances for Orient during his first spell with the club, scoring 6 goals, and spent last season at Stevenage where he made nineteen appearances.
