What Happened In The National League On Saturday?

By Tom Scott

The National League continues to surprise us and with three games gone, there's plenty more to come.

FC Halifax are the early pacesetters after Liam McAlinden secured their third win of the season against Dagenham & Redbridge.

Paul McCallum's penalty set Solihull Moors on their way to a fine win over Aldershot Town.

Matt Stenson bagged for the Moors before Ethan Chislett struck late on for the Shots.

Notts County found themselves in front through Enzio Boldewijn's superb effort.

But Barnet put on a show for the BT Sport cameras and mounted a comeback through captain Callum Reynolds and in-form Simeon Akinola.

Stockport County are still looking for their first win after drawing with Yeovil Town.

Chorley raced into a two-goal lead against Sutton United.

But Sutton United's never-say-die attitude saw them back weave their way back into contention and grab a point.

Dover Athletic showed they don't need Alfie Pavey to score to make their case.

Instead, Ricky Modeste and a last-gasp Stephen Pearson own-goal saw them score a maximum over Wrexham.

Boreham Wood's new frontman Kabongo Tshimanga got off the mark against Chesterfield.

But goals from Scott Boden and Jonathan Smith meant the Spireites left Hertfordshire with a share of the spoils.

Substitute Niko Muir scored the only goal of the game for Hartlepool United against Maidenhead.

The striker netted just seven minutes after entering the field.

Barrow are on the board after a win against Eastleigh - Scott Quigley added a late strike to an earlier own-goal.

Danny Rowe's early penalty was enough for AFC Fylde to edge past Ebbsfleet United at Mill Farm.

Woking recovered from their midweek anguish with a fine win over Harrogate Town.

Shaun Donnellan bagged the only goal of the game for the Cards.

Torquay United and Bromley both plundered three goals but they couldn't be separated at Hayes Lane.

Saturday's National League final scores:
AFC Fylde 1-0 Ebbsfleet United
Barrow 2-0 Eastleigh
Boreham Wood 2-2 Chesterfield
