We're Not Finished Yet Warn Chester After Darlo Delight

Co-manager Bernard Morley has a clear message for those writing off Chester’s play-off chances.

He says they are still fighting for a top seven place - and won’t give it up without a fight.

Wednesday night’s narrow 1-0 win at Darlington kept them within reach of a promotion position.

Chester are four points away and face leaders Chorley this weekend but they aren’t ready to throw in the towel.

“It was all about the three points,” Morley said after victory in the North East.

“The performance wasn’t the best we’ve seen this season, but it was all about coming here, getting the win and getting back on the road with what we came for.

“We still think we can get into those play-offs, and this is three points towards what we want to achieve.

“Something has got to give for that to happen, we know that,” he added.

“We’ve now got to beat a Chorley team who are top of the league but with our home record, and our record against big teams in this league, it’s all to play for.

“Nobody wants to play Chester when we’re at it. We’re starting to get players back so hopefully that can help see us through the last seven games of the season.”
