Stringer Says Win Can Bring Life To Clarets

Rod Stringer was more than happy to be say goodbye to a miserable January - and the suggestion is that this month holds better things.

Chelmsford City got their campaign back on track on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Chippenham Town.

It was a fully justified victory which kicks starts February in a positive way having been below part having not won any of their six National League South fixtures in January.

The Clarets next face leaders Dartford and then another title chasers, Hemel Hempstead, in their next two games and boss Stringer thinks this victory - their first since before Christmas - can help turn things around,

He told Clarets TV: "We've had a really bad January in the league and it has been tough. As much as we've dropped points, we've had the energy to keep going here today and the boys have bought into that.

"There were six or seven decisions we didn't get and I was thinking it's going to be one of those games.

"Overall I thought we were outstanding, I thought we ran the game. We had a little low patch in the second half because it's sometimes harder when you're playing against 10, and I would have liked to have put them to bed early but to do it the way we did was fine.

"At the moment we're buzzing and it helps to get back to back wins. Hopefully that might just revitalise the club. We've got a tough one next week away from home but hopefully we've got good form against Dartford.”
