As we move closer and closer to the big kick-off on August 3, a number of our sides were once again in friendly action on Tuesday night.

Beaten promotion finalists AFC Fylde are hoping to go one better this season and looked good against Championship side Wigan Athletic - edging them 1-0.

Slough Town and Eastleigh played out a goal-fest at Arbour park with the away side edging a seven-goal thriller.

Torquay United stepped up their preparations for the National League with a 5-0 thrashing of Bideford Town.

Goals were on the menu again for Stockport County - the Hatters bagging ten goals without reply against neighbours Stockport Town.

Seven, seven, seven for Hartlepool United, Harrogate Town and Chelmsford City.

Craig Hignett's side defeated Newton Aycliffe, Haringey Borough felt the wrath of Chelmsford while Harrogate toppled nearby Knaresborough.

New boys Tonbridge Angels hit East Grinstead for four. They will meet Maidstone United in the National League South who drew with Folkestone.

Spennymoor Town won 6-0 over West Auckland, Bromley overcame Welling by three goals to one and Dover were held by Beckenham.
