Charles Says Nuneaton Can Match Anyone Ahead Of York Game

Nuneaton Town boss Gary Charles says the win against Southport shows what his side is made of ahead of hosting promotion chasing York City.

Charles who has been in the role now for a few weeks has seen his side win and draw a game each so far, writes Tom Feaheny.

"We've got a good group of lads and I know we can match anyone. The most important thing for us as a group is getting the points on the board." Charles told the club's website.

"Southport are a good side and they've spent a bit of money so that result should give the lads a lot of encouragement.”

"We've got a good group here, with Ashley Chambers and Daniel Nti up top, and young Kairo Mitchell, it gives us a good chance of scoring goals."

Charles says despite that good result they still need to do a little more to ensure safety.

“We're not safe yet, I'm watching videos on York and Salford and they're good sides but Southport look a good side in the videos I've watched as well, sometimes you forget what a good side you can be."
