Bradbury Backs His Stuttering Hawks To End Winless Run

If you thought being without a win in four games would diminish Lee Bradbury’s confidence in his team, you’d be wrong.

For all their industry, Bradbury’s side are winless and have racked up just two points from their opening four games, writes Tom Scott.

And the former Portsmouth man believes he’s seen more than enough to convince him that the Hawks are good enough for this level.

“We haven’t really got what we deserved at this moment in time,” he told the club’s website.

“I think that we’ve performed well in spells in matches but not consistently but the two games in which we have been consistent, Boreham Wood and Fylde here we’ve been unfortunate not to win but we should have come away with three points at Dover.

“If we keep working as hard as we have and be consistent then I’m convinced we’ll be more than ok in this league this year.

“We need to just get that first win and I think that will breed a lot more confidence throughout the group knowing that we can kick on.

He added, “We’re not fearing anyone, we’re enjoying playing better teams, bigger opposition and massive clubs, bigger crowds and that’s where we want to be. We’ve worked hard to get here, and we want to stay here.”

Hawks travel to Cressing Road to play a Braintree Town side who find themselves in a similar predicament and Bradbury is confident his side will come out on top.

“They’ve had a tough start as well, so I think it would be a good measure of where we are at as far as picking up points this year,” he said.

“We’re looking forward to it, it’s a hard challenge this year but we knew it was always going to be a difficult challenge and we’re ready to pull our sleeves up and go give everything we have got again and get the three points we deserve.”
