Since his return in May 2017, Darlington has played a significant role at the club in helping introduce a modern and fresh approach to player development and monitoring throughout the year.
This work includes the introduction of GPS monitoring, player loading and video analysis for development and opposition preparation.
Darlington will continue to work on a part-time basis combining his Wrexham AFC duties around his FA of Wales Trust duties where he works as the head of coach education, leading the world class programme that has produced coaches working at some of the very best clubs and international teams around Europe.
Ricketts told the club`s official website: “We are delighted that Carl has committed his future to Wrexham AFC as he is a major asset to the club and will be a key part of my management team. I am looking forward to working with him closely and continuing the work to improve the club on every level.”
Darlington said: “As a Wrexham fan, I’m delighted to commit to a new deal and be part of the team. We made some great strides forward last season and preparation is already underway for the new season. Next season provides a new challenge and I’m really excited to be working with Sam to build a team we can all be proud of”.
