You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet Says Jubilant Dale Boss Jimmy!

Rochdale manager Jimmy McNulty saw his team steamroller promotion-hunting Altrincham and told his players: we can do better than that.

Dale hit another play-off chaser where it hurts in midweek, days after dispatching Aldershot Town.

The mood has changed at the Crown Oil Arena after a first National League campaign dogged by inconsistency.

But after the 3-0 win against Alty on Tuesday, McNulty wants the fans to keep the volume turned up - and hopes they’ve not seen anything yet!

“I think we can play even better than we did on Tuesday night,” the manager said after the impressive win, sealed by two Ryan East goals with another from Kairo Mitchell.

“I really do. It was a ruthless and committed performance and we were outstanding for the first 25 minutes - but after that? I think we can play better.

“We didn’t play badly, Altrincham are a really strong side. It’s a good win against a good team who are making serious moves in this league.”

Rochdale are now just two points off the play-offs but now face two tough trips to London with games at Dagenham and Bromley.

“I’m pleased for the fans,” he told the club’s YouTube channel. “We believe in ourselves totally and what we’re trying to do. They saw that.

“Everyone needs love and encouragement, but people need a reason to feel that way. I want to let the fans who support us no matter the scoreline know that we truly, truly value them.

“They are seeing a team fighting and representing them. There’s challenges ahead and we will need those supporters when it’s not going our way.”
