The Big Preview: Saturday's National League Action

By Tom Scott

If the FA Cup didn't provide you with enough excitement, wait until you take a look at what's instore this weekend in the National League.

It's difficult to pick a game of the day as the top four sides all face each other with three sides in with a shout of finishing the day top of the tree.

Salford City suffered FA Cup heartbreak last night but travel to Solihull Moors knowing they can't dwell on it.

The Ammies haven't tasted defeat since early-August but Tim Flowers' men are riding a wave of success at the moment and will back themselves.

Sam Ricketts' Wrexham look unbeatable at home and entertain a Leyton Orient side determined to stay top of the pile for as long as possible.

Orient striker Macauley Bonne has 10 goals in as many games but comes up against the joint-best defence in the league in the Dragons.

Harrogate will be looking to reassert themselves with the big boys and face Braintree Town who have lost their last two.

Barnet have a brilliant chance to put pressure on the top seven if they can overcome Gateshead.

The Heed have been excellent on the road and manager Steve Watson has challenged his side to get promotion.

Two sides without a single point in their last five outings, Barrow and Maidenhead travel to Aldershot and Sutton United respectively.

Dover Athletic are in threat of being cut adrift if they don't start picking up points soon.

But they come up against Hartlepool United who are desperate for a win after their recent poor form.

After progressing in the FA Cup, Chesterfield boss Martin Allen said all the signs were there for an improvement in his side's fortunes.

It won't be easy as they travel to Ten Acres to face an Eastleigh side who are bang in-form.

Havant & Waterlooville seemed to have turned a corner. It all started with their 7-0 demolition of Maidenhead at the end of October. Can they continue their resurgence against Maidstone?

Bromley host Dagenham & Redbridge and elsewhere, Garry Hill is looking for a response from his Ebbsfleet United side against FC Halifax.

AFC Fylde will be hoping the goals of Danny Rowe can help them overcome a stubborn Boreham Wood defence.
