Stones' Struggles Goes On But Still Won’t Admit Defeat

John Still vowed to work until the bitter end as just about everything that could go against Maidstone United did on Saturday.

Not only were his team outplayed by Bromley as they went down 2-0 at Hayes Lane.

But shock results away to title chasers for relegation rivals Dover Athletic and Maidenhead United left the Stones in the mire.

The Kent strugglers are now ten points adrift of National League safety.

Still wasn’t won a league game since returning to the club and knows things must be fixed and quickly if they are to stand any chance.

“It’s going to be difficult, we’ve always maintained that but we’re going to keep working,” he said.

“Everyone can see the position we’re in and it doesn’t make for good reading.

“We as a football club are not where we are for no reason. We’re running out of time.

“I thought in midfield we were poor, very poor,” Still added.

“We didn’t have any supply to our front players and we didn’t stop the supply to theirs.

“Midfield is where you get a grip of the game and we just didn’t do that.”
