Bucks Show The Way Forward In Fight Against Homophobia

AFC Telford United have become the latest National League North club to put their names to the fight to rid football of homophobia.

The Bucks are following the path of Altrincham, whose unique rainbow kit raised awarenesses and money for Stonewall last season.

Telford are linking up with sponsors Capgemini to organise Kicking It OUTfront.

On November 16 they will wear a redesigned kit against Spennymoor Town which will be full of rainbow branding with a colourful badge and sponsor’s logo.

It will be part of a family fun day at the club with the tops auctioned off for charity following the match. Money will go to XYZ Youth Group, a charity which supports LGBT+ young people in Shropshire.

Bucks Managing Director Ian Dosser said: “AFC Telford United fully supports Capgemini’s diversity and inclusion agenda and this collaboration allows the football club to further enhance our policies and behaviours, an opportunity the club have readily taken.

“We are proud to demonstrate our full support of Football v Homophobia initiatives and our dedication to kicking out all forms of homophobia in football.

“The club are committed to continuing to provide an inclusive environment for our staff, volunteers, football teams and everyone that attends our matches.”
