Allinson’s Saints Look To Top The Table Again

St Albans City can go back to the top of the Vanarama National League South tonight but manager Ian Allinson knows their busy fixture list won’t make or break their season.

Saints are third but a win this evening at Hampton & Richmond Borough will send them back to the top.

Allinson’s side are joint leaders alongside Braintree Town and Chelmsford City but they can hit the summit themselves at the Beveree.

Even a point could do the trick - if Dartford don’t win at Bath City, that is.

Allinson wants more from his side after their 0-0 draw at home to Hungerford Town on Saturday and their drip around the M25 this evening gives them a chance to make up for a lost opportunity.

Allinson: “We know this run of fixtures is important but it’s not going to make or break our season.

“We just need to keep picking up results and hopefully we can continue to challenge.

“I don’t think we’re the finished article yet but we are on the right path.”

Hampton go into the game after a 3-1 win at Whitehawk and their manager Alan Dowson wants more.

“I’m pleased we have another game straight away,” he said. “It gives as the chance to keep building on the result on Saturday.”
