A Baker’s Dozen For Blyth As Clark Signs A New Defender

Lee Clark has continued his overhaul at Blyth Spartans.

Defender Josh Nearney has made it 13 players signed up for next season for the new manager.

Ex-Birmingham City and Huddersfield boss Clark has had to re-shape his squad after a summer of comings and goings.

Nearney, 23, ends his three years at Hartlepool United to join the National League North club.

Clark always knew it was going to be a close season of change.

He told us last month: “It’s the position we find ourselves in but there is plenty of quality out there.

“We would have liked to have kept last season’s squad together but football isn’t that easy.

“That doesn’t mean we will set our aims ant lower.

“It is a really difficult league as everyone knows but every side goes into it with hope and we are no different.”
