Easter Extravaganza on BT Sport

By Steve Whitney

BT Sport will be showing three live matches from the Vanarama National League over....

...the Easter weekend, followed by a crucial top-of-the table clash between two clubs battling to regain Football League status.

It all adds up to a sequence of four big games in eight days as the National League season heads into its final, decisive month.

Friday March 25: Tranmere Rovers v Lincoln City 3pm

Good Friday will kick things off with promotion-chasing Rovers hoping their recent good form will by then have catapulted them into a play-off spot. The Red Imps meanwhile may have slipped over recent weeks but will be seeking a change in fortune ahead of Easter. These two ex Football League clubs should provide a spectacular start to the weekend.

Saturday March 26: FC Halifax Town v Altrincham 12.45 pm

Easter Saturday has another game not to miss as Altrincham travel the short distance across the M62 to the Shay. It’s a game neither side can afford to lose, both having been at the wrong end of the table for most of the season. But the two sides have also proved they are a match for anyone on their day.

Monday March 28: Wrexham v Cheltenham Town 5.45pm

The Bank Holiday triple-header concludes on Easter Monday with a repeat of the first Vanarama National game screened by BT Sport at the start of the season – a cracker which the Robins came from behind to win 2-1. Wrexham, who still feel a late run can get them into the play-off positions, will be seeking to use home advantage to gain revenge and so the pressure will be on both clubs.

Friday April 1: Cheltenham Town v Grimsby Town 7.45pm

Next up is a potential title decider between two sides who have already scored well over 100 goals between them this season. Cheltenham won the reverse fixture at Blundell Park but Grimsby are likely to need all three points if they are to keep pace in the championship race.

Four LIVE matches in eight days is a tremendous offering from BTSport and their expert team of pundits and commentators. It should all make for great viewing.
