Dixon Leaves Shaymen To Be Re-United With Gannon At Stockport

FC Halifax Town have announced that midfielder Bohan Dixon has left the Vanarama National League club and joined National League North side Stockport County.

The former AFC Fylde midfielder joined the Shaymen in the summer having helped them to winning the league and promotion to the National League.

However, Dixon has had limited game time since the start of the season, making three starts and one substitute appearance - his last coming on in the 69th minute at Solihull Moors on August 19th.

The 27-year-old joins the Hatters on a one-year deal with an option for a further year.

Dixon has worked under Stockport manager Jim Gannon previously during a six-month spell at Northwich Victoria, before moving to Salford City in January 2015 where he scored on his debut and helped the Ammies to clinch the Evo-Stik First Division North championship.

Dixon, a dominant 6`4” midfielder, also played in the Football League with Accrington Stanley before stints with Marine AFC, Lincoln City and Stalybridge Celtic.

The towering midfield man goes straight into the Hatters squad for tomorrow’s trip to AFC Telford United.

Gannon told his club`s official website: “I have worked with Bohan before and he will be a tremendous addition to the squad. He’s been involved in two title-winning sides recently and brings great versatility to the attacking midfield areas, with the ability to play in a diamond or anywhere across the front three.

“I tried to sign him before, when he was leaving Stalybridge eighteen months ago, so I’m delighted to be able to bring him to Edgeley Park”.
