Under fresh leadership, Scunthorpe United’s new owner seemingly isn’t keen for the Iron to be a National League North club for too long.

They’re the ones they’re all talking about so far and here’s why.

A raft of early close season signings has got everyone talking - and they’re not messing around.

Eastleigh striker Danny Whitehall, Boreham Wood centre-back Will Evans and Chesterfield goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons, pictured, are just three of the new additions.

Another club who couldn’t keep themselves in the National League have also put down an early marker.

Torquay United have signed Weymouth striker Bradley Ash following his 23 goals for the strugglers last time out.

The Terras have reacted to the departure by providing quite a distraction!

Brandon Goodship returns full time and Joel Rollinson, Teddy Howe, Calvin Brooks, Gerard Benfield, Keelan O'Connell, Harvey Slade and Frankie Monk all put pen to paper.

Another relegated side are getting down to work - Maidstone United have confirmed Sam Corne, Gavin Hoyte, Reiss Greenidge, Bivesh Gurung and Perri Iandolo will all be wearing the club’s colours next season.

George Elokobi has also signed Razzaq Coleman De-Graft from Lewes.

Paul Caddis has wasted little time stamping his mark on his Hereford side.

Aurio Teixeira, Lassana Mendes and Ollie Southern are already through the door and the new manager said: “There’s still more work to do but it’s been a good start.”

Eastleigh goalkeeper Joe McDonnell can enjoy his summer after another eventful ending, he’s signed a new contract at the Spitfires.

Midfielder Jake Taylor has also signed at Eastleigh.

Hampton & RB have managed to convince Farnborough's Mason Bloomfield to play for them next season - ex-Barnet winger Rob Hall has also joined the Beavers along with defender Jordan Cheadle.

Defender Adebola Oluwo is now a Barnet boy after leaving National League South side Chelmsford City.

Manager Dean Brennan said: “We’ve been tracking Ade for a long time now and his attributes fit our criteria. At 23 he’s the perfect age for us too. I’m delighted that he’s joining us and know he’ll be a great asset to the club.”

Martin Woods has swapped FC Halifax for Boston United as the Pilgrims look to right the wrongs of last season.

One man leaving the Jakemans Community Stadium is Tom Platt, he's signed for fellow National League North side Darlington.

Clayton Donaldson has become the first new player of the post-Russ Wilcox era at Farsley Celtic. The former Brentford, Birmingham City and Sheffield United striker bagged 22 goals in 28 games for Gainsborough Trinity last season.

Jeanmal Prosper is headed for Slough Town from Chesham United as Scott Davies looks to build.

Maidenhead have announced a big departure ahead of the new season as long-serving midfielder Ryan Upward leaves after nine years.
