Day To Forget For Kinnear As He Brings Up 1,500 Games

Chris Kinnear’s 1,500th game as a manager didn’t turn out as he would have liked as Dover Athletic slipped out of the play-off positions.

The Whites took the lead at AFC Fylde through Mitch Pinnock but the home side fought back to win 3-1 and replace Dover in seventh.

The result dropped Kinnear’s men to ninth and they have now lost four of their last five games in all competitions.

It was a milestone to forget for Kinnear and he told Kent Online: “It’s irrelevant how many games I’ve managed really, it’s no different from the first one.

“Once we’d got the goal the game died down a bit, but we were guilty of trying to play too much. We gave the ball away and you can’t do that.

"We had to see the game out and we couldn’t do it. The players need to learn, once we get one nil up you can’t over play.

“It’s disappointing whenever you lose a game. We’ll move on and look towards next Saturday."
