Crucial Night Awaits With A Flurry Of Big Matches Coming

By Sam Elliott

We’ve got no fewer than 20 games coming your way tonight - so here’s a bit about every one of them.

There’s no other place to start that’s the first against second match-up and after going three without a win, Chesterfield have a point to prove.

They want to pretty much tie things up at the home of one of the sides who thought - for the first half of the season at least - that they could push them all the way. Barnet may be the ones closest to them but they’re still 20 points shy.

There a couple of important promotion vs relegation meet ups - and Woking really need to beat free scoring Gateshead.

Kidderminster Harriers have been sensational under Phil Brown but are still in the bottom four. They’re at Solihull Moors, who are trying to wriggle into the top three.

Oldham Athletic are hanging onto a top seven place by their fingertips and with pressure from below them could really do with returning to winning ways at Eastleigh. Altrincham are having a wobble and won’t relish a trip to smiling again Southend United.

Wealdstone are only one point above the drop zone and go to Rochdale looking to fire themselves clear.

The National League North title race is paused but Chorley will think a win at Brackley Town could push them into contention.

Darlington have picked up results down the bottom but need to keep on winning - but they won’t have it easy at Curzon Ashton. Boston United can cement a play-off place by winning at home to Buxton.

So can Alfreton Town if they beat King’s Lynn Town and and Rushall Olympic need a favour from the Reds - and a win themselves. They travel to Farsley Celtic.

Elsewhere Banbury United welcome Peterborough Sports and Bishop’s Stortford will be all-but down if they lose at home to Spennymoor Town.

In the National League South, Chelmsford City can up the heat on Yeovil Town if they win at Farnborough.

Bath City and Braintree Town are imbedded in the top seven and there’s three priceless points up for grabs. Hampton & RB are back in, and if they better Havant & Waterlooville they’ll be confident of staying there.

There’s a huge game at the bottom as Welling United take on Truro City.

St Albans are sixth, they go to Weymouth, as Taunton Town look to get a long awaited win - they’re at home to Weston-super-Mare as Dartford tackle Aveley.
