Cowan In Control As Brackley Look To Put Agony To Bed

Brackley Town have reacted to yet more play-off heartache with a swift managerial appointment.

Gavin Cowan has been given the task of earning the club promotion from the National League North.

They fell short again on Sunday as Kidderminster Harriers took the glory - the Saints’ fifth play-off failure in six seasons.

Gaz Dean took them to the final but told bosses he didn’t want the job full-time.

Brackley moved quickly to get their new man - former AFC Telford United boss Cowan.

The 41-year-old said: “I’m incredibly excited to be a part of this brilliant football club.

“I’ve been fortunate to be in and around the place supporting these last few weeks which has given me an insight into what can be achieved here.

“The community feel coupled with serious ambition is what has attracted me and I look forward to getting started!”

Brackley added in a statement: “The club wishes to put on record its sincere thanks to Gareth, Martin Woods, and Jimmy Armson for stepping in and we welcome Gavin to St James Park.”
