Cooper Becomes a Loan Rover

Vanarama National League club Forest Green Rovers have swooped to....

...sign teenage midfielder Charlie Cooper on a month`s loan from Sky Bet Championship side Birmingham City.

The 18-year-old’s registration has been confirmed with the National League and was on the bench against Braintree Town on Saturday.

A central midfielder by trade, he follows in the footsteps of father Mark, who made appearances in a Forest Green shirt and was most recently manager at Swindon Town.

He’s also the grandson of former England international Terry, who earned great acclaim locally as manager of Bristol City and Bristol Rovers during the 1980s.

Meanwhile, Darren Jones has revealed that he has left the New Lawn.

The defender, who was in his third spell with the club, is now expected to re-join League Two side Newport County after being spotted watching their 2-2 draw against Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday.
