Coasters Manager Challinor: More To Come From Fylde

AFC Fylde's first game in the Vanarama National League saw them draw 2-2 with Boreham Wood with boss Dave Challinor admitting there are things they need to work on.

AFC Fylde picked up their first point in the league after falling 2-1 down in the second-half, writes Tom Feaheny.

A Jonny Smith strike with 15 minutes left to play was enough for the Coasters to pick up a point.

They next face Chester away from home on Tuesday, knowing that they are facing another tough opponent something Challinor acknowledged.

"We have had a tough game, we need to recover and be ready for what will be a tough game against Chester, it is crucial that Monday morning we have that training session and are ready."

"It is always going to be tough, we have had to make changes to the squad, we are still looking at making that transition, we want to find that consistency as soon as possible."

When reflecting on their opening

"I thought first-half we played a little bit safe, we were a little bit worried in terms of making mistakes, I felt we managed are way through the game rather then grabbing the bull by the horns.

He added: "A point was a fair result, but both sides will have looked at this and felt they could have won it.
