....Wrexham for the past week, experienced forward Louis Briscoe has signed a contract until the end of the season.

Previously with Torquay United in the first half of the current campaign, Briscoe agreed to cancel his contract with the Gulls and look for a club nearer his Burton-upon-Trent home.

The 27-year-old was a junior with Port Vale and made his way through the ranks to sign a pro contract, breaking into the Valiants first-team on four occasions.

There were also numerous spells with the likes of Leek Town, Hednesford Town, Gresley FC, Stafford Rangers and Ilkeston FC, before emerging again with Mansfield Town in 2009 - joining manager David Holdsworth in switching from Ilkeston

At Field Mill, Briscoe made nearly 200 appearances, helping the Stags to the 2011 FA Trophy Final and the 2012 Conference play-offs, before finally winning promotion to the Football League in 2013.

A move to Torquay followed in the summer of 2014, but it was an unhappy period for the Gulls and although be briefly teamed up again with Paul Cox at the start of 2015/16, he left Devon after Kevin Nicholson took over the reins.
