Bobby: Getting Our Business Done Early Will Help Stones

Bobby Wilkinson hopes the early bird catches the worm this summer.

The Wealdstone boss has been more active than any other manager in the transfer market in May.

The Stones boss didn’t get a close season to shape his side last time out having joined a month into the season.

Wilkinson has added 12 new players already and doesn’t yet know if he will bring in even more.

Sutton United’s Bradley Hudson Odoi, defender Yado Mambo, Slough’s Matt Lynch and Oxford City left-back Freddie Grant are just a handful of the club’s new recruits.

The manager knew wholesale changes were needed after a limp last few months and hopes getting deals done will help everyone.

“We decided we needed to act quickly and decisively,” he told us.

“We wanted to get our business done early and we have been lucky enough to get a number over the line inside the first month.

“They are all players who wanted to be a part of things here and we have made some quality additions.

“We needed to shake things up to give us the best chance of progressing. I’m delighted with what we have done.

“Attitudes have been first class so we are very happy.”
