Askey: Macclesfield Squad Have Done Me Proud

John Askey says making changes and still winning shows the depth in his table topping squad.

Macclesfield Town made it ten unbeaten with a 4-1 win at FC Halifax Town, writes Tom Feaheny.

"We have a strong squad, we needed that, it was a good performance and result for the side, it keeps the run going," Askey told the club's website.

"To start the new year with a win and four goals was a nice start, Mitch (Hancox) got his reward with a hat-trick and he deserved that.

"First-half we made them work once we took the lead, we could feel the game going our way once we got the first goal.

"We need to keep our heads done and not get carried away, to go ten unbeaten is absolutely great."
