Another Goal Rush Arrives On Bank Holiday Monday

There was no end to the entertainment on Bank Holiday Monday as the second instalment of the weekend action didn’t disappoint.

Chesterfield won the day’s big game, ending Hartlepool’s four game winning run in the final seconds after flipping the match on its head.

Pools were perfect early on and raced into a two goal lead but Paul Cook’s side turn things around in a thriller, Tom Naylor scoring a 94th minute winner.

But they don’t return to the top, Solihull Moors do as Mark Beck’s 100th career goal earned a 2-0 victory at Oldham Athletic. Josh Kelly made the game safe.

Barnet are second after a Nicke Kabamba hat-trick earned a 3-2 win over Ebbsfleet United.

There were even more goals at AFC Fylde as the Coasters scored in the 98th minute through Emeka Obi to rescue a 3-3 draw at home to Altrincham.

The live TNT Sports game saw Aldershot Town field three different goalkeepers but two goal Enzio Boldewijn had the final say as Eastleigh ran out comfortable winners.

Bromley get their first win as Michael Cheek’s winner saw to Southend United and there’s still no victory for York City - a 3-1 Rochdale win saw Michael Morton depart, Tyrese Sinclair once again got two goals as Dale move into fifth place.

Dennon Lewis put the seal on Woking’s simple 2-0 victory over Dorking Wanderers while Omar Mussa confirmed three points for Dagenham at Wealdstone.

Oxford City have their first ever win at this level and did it in style with a thumping 4-0 victory against well-beaten Boreham Wood. There were no goals in the games between FC Halifax Town and Gateshead and Kidderminster and Maidenhead United.

Scunthorpe United sizzled in the early kick off as they sent a clear message to the rest of the National League North.

Curzon Ashton are second, William Hayhurst’s double eased the Nash to a 4-1 win at Warrington Town. Tamworth also hit four - they were too good for Hereford, Kyle Finn got two against his old club.

Spennymoor missed the chance to up the heat as they lost at Blyth Spartans while Paul Blackett’s late leveller handed South Shields a point at Darlington.

Elsewhere it was a good day for Chester, Chorley, Brackley, Gloucester City, King’s Lynn Town, Bishop’s Stortford and Buxton who all won.

In the National League South, Havant & Waterlooville picked the perfect moment to get their first win of the season.

They defeated Yeovil Town 4-3, Callum Kealy won it very late on a dramatic day on the south coast.

Torquay United won their game late, Aaron Jarvis’ penalty defeated Braintree Town but it’s Worthing in command - they won 2-0 against Weymouth and stay top.

Chelmsford City win again. Jermaine Francis’ 63rd minute winner added the misery for Eastbourne Borough.

Bath City are third, Scott Wilson again on target as Jerry Gill’s team defeat St Albans City 3-0.

Elsewhere it was a three point day for Aveley who beat Hampton & RB 3-0 and for Truro City, Chippenham, Welling United and Dartford.
