All You Need To Know: National League South Promotion Final

By Tom Scott

We are just days away from the Vanarama National League South Promotion Final.

Here is all you need to be aware of ahead of Boreham Wood against Maidstone United this lunchtime.

When is the Promotion Final taking place?

The Vanarama National League South Promotion Final between Boreham Wood and Maidstone United is taking place on Sunday 18 May at the Mangata Pay UK Stadium Meadow Park and kicks off at 12.30pm.

How did the teams get to the Final?

Boreham Wood got their play-off campaign underway with one of the most dramatic National League play-off ties of all time after trailing Dorking Wanderers 3-1 after 82 minutes. Goals from Abdul Abdulmalik and Cameron Coxe got them on level terms before Femi Ilesanmi smashed home a last-gasp winner.

A more subdued semi-final performance at Torquay United followed as Matt Rush grabbed the only goal of the game to set-up today's Promotion Final.

Maidstone did things the hard way - winning both of their games away from home. First beating Worthing courtesy of two Ben Brookes penalties in their Eliminator before becoming the only side to say they won at Eastbourne Borough this season courtesy of Aaron Blair's late winner.
