Alexander: Salford Fans Can Enjoy Their Weekend After That!

Graham Alexander said he was glad he could finally give the Salford City fans something to shout about after ending a run of seven games without a win.

Carl Piergianni's first-half header was enough for the Ammies to claim all three points at Ebbsfleet United.

It ended their barren spell which included four consecutive defeats in as many games recently.

After the game, Alexander praised the club's travelling contingent and was glad to send them home with smiling.

"I’m delighted for the supporters that have travelled all over the country supporting us," he told the club's website.

"And we haven’t given them that much to cheer about in the last few weeks and I’m delighted to let them have a long trip home with smiles, a couple of beers down them, and enjoying seeing their team fully commit to a tough game of football and come out with victory.

“I’m delighted for a lot of people because we’ve been tested, seriously," he continued. "We will continue to be tested as characters and a club, and it’s important we show the same determination as we did today.”

The win was extra important as far as the National League title race goes with Wrexham, Solihull Moors, Leyton Orient and AFC Fylde all picking up wins.
