Yates Won’t Be Letting Harriers’ Play-Off Dream Die

Mark Yates isn’t throwing in the towel on Kidderminster’s play-off hopes - even if his players appear to be pressing the self destruct button.

At 3-1 in front against ten man Blyth Spartans, they ended the game leaving with just a point.

To make matters worse, Spartans has legendary striker Robbie Dale in goal for most of the match.

The result leaves Kiddy tenth and five points outside the top seven.

But new boss Yates says all is not lost quite yet but he knows time is fast running out if they want to catch those above them.

“I’m disappointed and a bit embarrassed by the last five minutes,” he said on the club’s official website.

“We were 3-1 up with five minutes to go and we didn’t see the game out. A few words were said in the dressing room.”

He added: “It makes it harder but we’re not throwing in the towel, believe me.

“We have 11 games to go and 33 points to play for, so we aren’t giving up any hopes of that in the slightest.

“We have to pick ourselves up, go to Ashton on Tuesday and put it right.”
