Worried Heath has No Case For His Defence

Billy Heath knows his players must learn how to defend - and fast.

On Saturday Spennymoor put seven past the Reds on home turf.

It was the former Halifax and North Ferriby manager’s most difficult day in football as they waved the white flag.

Things don’t get any easier. Next in the National League North they face Stockport County and Boston United.

“When you can’t defend, or do the basics of defending, then you have got a problem,” Heath told the club’s video service.

“We had chances, but when you can’t defend in any way shape of form that happens.

“A lot about this league is what you do in both boxes and we got it very wrong in both.

“We have experienced players. We went to Ashton last week and got a really good result and now we concede seven at home.

“It’s consistency, and we haven’t got it.”
