Whitaker: Positives Throughout For Silkmen

Four points from their opening two games games has seen John Askey's side make a positive start as they sit sixth in the table.

The Silkmen have defeated Wrexham and drawn with Hartlepool in those matches, something that midfielder Danny Whitaker is hoping they can build on, writes Tom Feaheny.

Speaking to the club's website and Adam Washbrook, Whitaker knows despite the good start they need to continue working hard.

“We’re unbeaten in our first two games after two tough games. There’s loads of positives to take and a couple of things to work on in training, which we’ll go away and do in our build up to the next game, but we’ll just go away now and keep working hard.”

Town's goal during the 1-1 draw with Hartlepool was scored by Whitaker who said it is all about the team and not personal achievements.

“It’s always nice personally but we just want to win games,” he said. “I don’t mind who scores so long as we win games and get the right result. Personally it’s nice to get off the mark, but I’d rather not score and us win the game.”

Macclesfield's next match is at home against Bromley on Saturday with a 3pm kick-off.
