Preview: National League North Games On Saturday

By Tom Scott

There are festive crackers everywhere you look in the National League North this weekend.

The game of the day is at Victory Park where Jamie Vermiglio’s Chorley side look to have ended their recent slump to reach the summit once again.

But it will take a huge performance to dampen Blyth Spartans’ spirit after their recent remarkable form that has fans dreaming of a play-off spot.

Altrincham have looked unbeatable recently and the games keep coming thick and fast. Alty have lost just once in their last ten game.

Tommy Wright has vowed to fight on at Darlington but a trip to the North-West could prove tricky.

York City boss Sam Collins blasted his side after their poor run of form continued last week.

Both the Minstermen and Brackley Town will be hoping for a better score-line than their goalless draw earlier in the season.

Jimmy Ginnelly will be hoping his first win for Nuneaton Borough will be a sign of things to come going forward and the Boro will fancy their chances against an out-of-form Guiseley side.

Chester have one of the best home records in the whole country despite their recent hit and miss form.

No pressure then for AFC Telford United who make the journey up to the Swansway.

Two sides who had differing fortunes last time out face off as Alfreton Town host Stockport.

Billy Heath said his side need to learn how to defend after their 7-1 drubbing at the hands of Spennymoor Town last week.

The feel-good factor seems to be back at Hereford after three wins in three for Marc Richards.

But it doesn’t get any easier for the Bulls who travel to title-challengers Bradford (Park Avenue) on Saturday afternoon.

There’s a six-pointer at the bottom of the table – in-form Southport travel to Ashton United who will be looking for a response to their midweek 6-0 defeat.

Leamington’s form has turned a corner recently and the Brakes aren’t a million miles off the top-seven.

FC United of Manchester are in town looking to spoil the party.

Free-scoring Spennymoor Town host Boston United at the Brewery Field.

Kidderminster Harriers have dropped off recently with seven points from as many games. Curzon Ashton are in town and are desperate for a win.
