What Happened In The National League South On Monday?

By Sam Elliott

The game of the season so far in the National League South certainly lived up to expectation.

It was first vs second going into the Bank Holiday weekend and Wealdstone are certainly enjoying their moment in the sun.

The Stones won 4-3 at Weymouth - Dean Brennan’s leaders breaking Terras hearts as a hat-trick from Ross Lafayette inflicted some serious damage down in Dorset - moments after the host clawed their way back into it.

The manager’s old club are breathing down their neck - they beat the other side Brennan managed last season!

Hemel Hempstead saw off Billericay 3-0 as two-goal Ricardo German stole the show at Vauxhall Road.

Bath City were left stunned by Oxford City’s fantastic recovery as Stefan Brown’s penalty kick proved to be the difference.

Eastbourne boss Lee Bradbury returned to Havant & Waterlooville and claimed a brave point as the Hawks' goal-touch deserted them at home again. It ended 0-0.

Maidstone United certainly know where the net is now - and Chelmsford City continue to go into their shells away from home.

The Stones thrashed Rod Stringer’s side 4-1 at the Gallagher Stadium as a Dan Wishart double and goals from Justin Amaluzor and Ibby Akanbi made it four unbeaten for John Still.

Welling United showed they can repeat last season’s heroics again - a ruthless 4-2 home win over Tonbridge was helped by Bradley Goldberg’s two goals.

Braintree Town left it late to beat Dorking Wanderers 3-2 at Cressing Road, while Hungerford bit back late to earn a point against Dartford.

Hampton are much happier now. A stunning goal from Danilo Orsi-Dadomo secured a 1-0 win over Chippenham - making it six points from six available over the past three days.

St Albans City are upwardly mobile - a 2-1 win over Concord Rangers lifted manager Ian Allinson.

Slough Town will think they are up and running now - turning it around late on to defeat Dulwich Hamlet 3-2 at a sweltering Champion Hill.
