Watson Has A Simple Message For In-Form Gateshead

The Heed manager’s side have rocketted themselves to the top of the National League form guide.

Saturday’s conclusive win over Aldershot means they have taken 15 points from their last six games.

The stingy Gateshead defence have now recorded five clean sheets in a row - the best defensive run any side has been on this season.

They are now in the play-off places and for Watson it couldn’t be any more straight forward.

“It’s just got to be more of the same,” he said after watching the 3-0 win over the Shots.

“The fact we’re keeping these clean sheets gives us a great base to build from. We’re all in it together - there’s such a great spirit and unity within the squad.

“Our game plans are working. When you keep your shape and look solid then you give yourselves a great chance of winning games.

“That’s what we’re doing right now and it’s really encouraging.”
