Vanarama's National League North fan preview: Kidderminster Harriers

Keen Kidderminster Harrier’s fan Kieran Wright gives us his outlook on what's to come this season.

League sponsors Vanarama have been getting the fans’ perspective ahead of the new season - which kicks off this Saturday

The wait it almost over! What will make it worth the wait?
The fans have got new signings, new management and new kits. The first ten games into the season will tell where your team will be about at the end of the season.

John Pemberton has arrived having worked for a number of years with youth squads and seems very keen to integrate the youth and senior setup at Harriers. How exciting is it to see the club produce their own talent and be successful with them?
I think there are exciting times ahead. We have seen before we can produce good young players like Luke Maxwell, Joe Lolley and Marvin Johnson. We know Pemberton has worked with academies before, so he knows how to get the best out of them. Players like Milan Butterfield and Jaiden White will be some top players in the future.

What signings in the league have stood out?
I think York have done the best business this summer, bringing in some top-quality players like Steve McNulty, Dan Maguire who is a proven goal scorer. Andy Bond could easily still be playing in the National League.

How different will the National League North look this time around?
There will be a lot more teams that were struggling last season challenging for promotion. Hereford have spent this summer and Darlington will be up there this season as well.

Who will be the side everyone should be wary of?
Kidderminster Harriers! After last season we will want to end their time in the National League North and try to get promoted. We have a good young side and some more amazing players coming through the academy.

Which away days are you certain to go to?
Hopefully, York City’s new stadium.

What games are you desperate to win?
Hereford at home on Boxing Day. It’s the local derby and we will both have a good season so it will be a six-pointer game.

Imagine you’re the manager – who is your top transfer target?
Glenn Taylor; he knows where the back of the net is.

Time to get the crystal ball out – where are you finishing?
I think we will finish fifth.
