There’s No Late, Late Nerves For Garrard And Wood This Time

Boreham Wood managed to turn a negative into a positive on Tuesday night.

Manager Luke Garrard knows it took mental toughness to get through their FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round tie at Dagenham.

Wood appeared to be in the hat at 4.45pm on Saturday.

They were 2-0 up in injury time but didn’t count on an incredible Daggers fightback.

Garrard, whose team now face a tricky trip to Southport, told BWFC TV it doesn’t matter to him how they did it.

“This wasn’t a one-off game. We had 90 minutes with Dagenham on Saturday and going into the last few minutes we were 2-0 up,” he said.

“Then the score twice and we are back for a replay. So you can understand the mindset.

“But I was over the moon. I made sure our supporters knew it as well as they helped get us over the line.

“The aim was to get through by hook or by crook and we have managed to do that.”
